The OEM alternator belt adjuster bracket used on the Toyota Land Cruiser 70, 80, and 100 Series equipped with the 1HZ (4.2L Diesel) and 1HD (4.2L Turbo Diesel) engines is a known structural weak point. Over time, continuous belt loading, vibration, thermal cycling, corrosion, and material fatigue can significantly reduce the bracket’s rigidity and durability, often resulting in deformation, cracking, or alignment issues.
