250 Amp – 3.7L Cyclone

This 250 Amp High Output alternator is specifically designed, engineered, and manufactured for the Ford 3.7L Cyclone (aka Duratec) gasoline engine. It is a direct bolt in replacement for the OEM alternator with no modifications required. The 3.7L Cyclone engine began production in 2008 and can be found in several Ford, Lincoln and Mazda vehicles including the Ford Mustang, Lincoln MKX, and Mazda 6. The SBC-F3.7-250XP generates a maximum of 250 Amps at normal driving speeds and 185 Amps at idle. The OEM alternators for this engine produce a maximum of 110 to 220 Amps depending on the vehicle. By upgrading to the 250XP alternator you are gaining between 30 and 140 Amps.

The XP series of SBC alternators are manufactured in California, USA and assembled using DENSO components. This allows the XP alternator to tie into the OEM electrical system without any issues while producing significantly higher amperage at both idle and driving speeds. XP series alternators feature a larger housing while still retaining OEM fitment. They run cooler and are virtually indestructible.

A precision machined, hard anodized pulley made from Aircraft Certified 6061 aluminum is installed on each alternator for maximum output and durability.
