Alternators are often subjected to voltage spikes caused by battery shutdowns, intermittent connections, and other overvoltage events. The Alternator Protection Module helps protect the alternator’s diodes and internal regulator against spikes (clamping up to 60V) and sustained overvoltage conditions. The APM can withstand multiple surges of such energy and can withstand surges of more than 200 amps without failing, continually protecting your alternator. Visual and audible alarms indicate if the device has been compromised and needs replacement.
