When upgrading from an OEM to an SBC high-output alternator, you should upgrade the positive and negative (ground) cables to handle the increased current.

The SBC-DT1GD70-150 Is a secondary independent charging system for the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-Series with the 1GD-FTV (2.8 Turbo Diesel) engine that adds a secondary 24 Volt / 150 Amp alternator.

 

The kit leaves the OEM 12 system alone and adds one 24 Volt alternator that produces 100 at engine idle and 150 at driving speeds.
