When upgrading from an OEM to an SBC high-output alternator, you should upgrade the positive and negative (ground) cables to handle the increased current.

The SBC-DTV35A-390XP is a 12 Volt, 390 Amp dual alternator kit for the Toyota V35A-FTS (3.5L Turbo Gasoline) engine. It leaves the OEM 12 Volt system alone and adds one 12 Volt alternator that produces 175 Amps at idle and 270 Amps at driving speeds. The OEM 12 Volt alternator can be reused or can be upgraded to an SBC-TV35A-320SPXi for even more 12 Volt power.

The SBC-DTV35A-390XP adds a completely independent 12 Volt, 390 Amp system to the Toyota V35A-FTS (3.5L Turbo Gasoline) engine. It allows for all OEM 12 Volt systems to function properly while allowing for another 12 Volt circuit. The OEM 12 Volt alternator can be reused or can be upgraded to an SBC-TV35A-320SPXi for even more 12 Volt power.
